Clone REA463 recognizes the human thymocyte-expressed molecule involved in selection (THEMIS) antigen, a 73 kDa signaling protein, that is also known as thymocyte selection pathway associated (TSEPA), signaling phosphoprotein specific for T cells (SPOT), or GRB2-associated protein (GASP). THEMIS is rapidly tyrosine-phosphorylated upon TCR ligation and is required for the differentiation of immature CD4/CD8 double positive thymocytes into mature CD4 or CD8 single positive thymocytes.
