Clone REA1442 recognizes Podocalyxin, also known as PCLP1 and PODXL, a single-pass type I membrane sialoglycoprotein. Podocalyxin is involved in the regulation of adhesion, cell morphology and cancer progression.It is most closely related to CD34 and endoglycan, expressed by kidney podocytes, hematopoietic progenitors, vascular endothelia, and a subset of neurons. Podocalyxin plays a role in cancer development and aggressiveness by inducing cell migration and invasion.
