Clone REA449 recognizes the human MEK2 antigen regardless of phosphorylation status. MEK2 is a serine/threonine kinase also known as MAP kinase kinase (MAPKK 2) or MAPK/ERK kinase 2. The dual specificity kinases MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by RAF and mediate phosphorylation of ERK1 and ERK2. MEK1 and MEK2 are very similar but differ structurally in a proline-rich domain in the C-terminal half of the catalytic core.
