Clone REA253 recognizes the mouse lymphocyte antigen 49c (Ly-49C), a type II transmembrane protein which is also known as killer cell lectin-like receptor 3 (Klra3). The REA253 antibody reacts with Ly-49C of BALB, B6, NZB, C57BL, and Ly-49I of B6 mice strains. Ly-49 family members are both activating and inhibitory receptors and are mainly receptors for MHC class I molecules.
