Clone REA457 recognizes the mouse Peyer’s patch adhesion molecule 1 (LPAM-1) antigen, a heterodimeric glycoprotein receptor, which is also known as α4β7 integrin. LPAM-1 is a cell surface adhesion molecule involved in lymphocyte trafficking and lymphocyte-cell and matrix interactions. It is expressed on T and B cells. Lymphocytes in spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes have low levels of LPAM-1 expression but can up-regulate their LPAM-1 expression on activation.
