Clone REA350 recognizes the human leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) antigen, a secreted variably glycosylated 180 amino acid protein also known as melanoma-derived lipoprotein lipase inhibitor (MLPLI). LIF is produced by a variety of cells including activated T cells and macrophages, myeloid cells, fibroblasts, liver, heart, and melanoma cells. It affects cell growth by inhibiting differentiation.
