抗人 ANKRD16 抗体对

01AB01014

Ankyrin repeat domain 16 (ANKRD16) is a vertebrate-specific protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining translational fidelity. It contains nine ankyrin repeats and binds directly to the catalytic domain of alanyl-tRNA synthetase (AlaRS). ANKRD16 prevents the misactivation of serine with tRNA(Ala) by capturing misactivated serine through its lysine side chains, thereby promoting the hydrolysis of Ser-mischarged tRNA(Ala) and precluding serine misincorporation in nascent peptides. This protein is predominantly expressed in the heart and brain. ANKRD16 has been implicated in neurological disorders, particularly in preventing protein aggregation associated with conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Deletion of Ankrd16 in mice with a defective AlaRS editing domain results in widespread protein aggregation and neuron loss, particularly affecting cerebellar Purkinje cells.
