抗人 AMN 抗体对

01AB01012

Amnion associated transmembrane protein (AMN) is a type I transmembrane protein primarily found embedded in the outer membrane of kidney cells and cells lining the small intestine. It functions by binding to cubilin, anchoring it to the cell membrane, and is essential for vitamin B12 uptake from food. AMN helps transfer the cubilin-vitamin B12 complex into intestinal cells, from where the vitamin is released into the bloodstream. In the kidneys, AMN and cubilin participate in reabsorbing certain proteins that would otherwise be excreted in urine. Additionally, AMN is thought to modulate bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptor function. Mutations in the AMN gene can lead to hereditary megaloblastic anemia, a condition characterized by abnormally large red blood cells and neurological complications due to impaired vitamin B12 absorption, which affects DNA formation, protein production, cellular energy generation, and fat metabolism.
