Clone REA1494 recognizes the HSF1 (Heat shock factor protein 1), which regulates the heat shock response (HSR) pathway in humans by acting as the major transcription factor for heat shock proteins. It facilitates malignant transformation, cancer cell survival, and proliferation in model systems. The genes activated by HSF1 under heat shock conditions are different to those which are activated in malignant cancer cells.
