Clone REA1483 recognizes the transcriptional regulator ERG, a transcription factor belonging to the ETS family. It plays a central role in gene regulation, particularly in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, angiogenesis , and hematopoiesis. ERG has also a potentially pathological role in cancer developement. It is overexpressed or activated through gene fusions in various cancers, especially prostate cancer, and Acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
