Clone REA1065 recognizes the human delta-like4 (DLL4) antigen, which is a type I membrane protein belonging to the Delta/Serrate/Lag2 (DSL) family of Notch ligands. Notch signaling controls cell fate decisions and is involved in multiple developmental processes. Notch ligands are categorized into two subfamilies: the Jagged and the Delta ligand family. In mammals, five ligands (DLL 1, 3, and 4, Jagged 1 and 2) have been identified. DLL4 is highly expressed within vascular endothelial cells, thymic epithelial cells, and dendritic cell subsets and plays an important role for vascular development
