Clone REA1098 recognizes human CD58, a 45–70 kDa cell surface molecule which is a member of the immunoglobin superfamily. It is expressed on professional APCs (antigen-presenting cells) such as B cells, dendritic cells, macrophages, and epithelial cells as well as on T cells, monocytes, erythrocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. LFA-3 interacts with CD2 on T cells and is important for interaction between T cells and professional APCs.Additional information: Clone REA1098 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
