Clone REA489 recognizes domain 2 of the rat CD4 antigen, a single-pass type I membrane protein, also known as T cell surface antigen T4/Leu-3 or W3/25 antigen. CD4 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed on the surface of T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It has four immunoglobulin domains (D1 to D4).
