Clone REA1311 recognizes the pleiotropic molecule CD326, which is also known as epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM). It is involved in cell adhesion and mediates intercellular adhesion and associates with the actin cytoskeleton. The CD326 antigen is an useful diagnostic marker for epithelia and epithelial-derived neoplasm. It is found in metastases, malignant effusions, and cancer stem cells.
