Clone REA315 recognizes the human CD269 antigen, a single-pass type III membrane protein which is also known as B cell maturation antigen (BCMA). CD269 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily that is preferentially expressed in mature B lymphocytes. It is the receptor for CD256 (TNFSF13, APRIL) and CD257 (TNFSF13B, BLyS, BAFF). CD269 promotes B cell survival and plays a role in the regulation of humoral immunity.
