Clone REA277 recognizes the CD196 antigen, a G protein–linked chemokine receptor also known as C-C chemokine receptor type 6 (CCR6). CD196 is preferentially expressed by B cells, immature dendritic cells, and subsets of T cells. The ligand of CD196 is macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha (MIP-3α) and binding subsequently transduces a signal by increasing the intracellular calcium ions level.
