Clone REA158 recognizes CCR1, a chemokine receptor that binds to CC subgroup of chemokines as ligands. Chemokines are small chemoattractant protein molcules and are subdivided into families CC, CXC, or CX3C.Chemokines exert their action via binding to corresponding chemokine receptors, which are G protein–coupled receptors and share several structural features. CCR1 binds chemokines auch as CCL3, CCL5, CCL7, and CCL14 as ligands.
