CD177, a member of the µPAR family, is a 58–64 kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein expressed exclusively by subset of neutrophils, neutrophilic metamyelocytes, and myelocytes and is suggested to play a role in neutrophil mediated immune reponse as evident by its up-regulation on neutrophils in a number of inflammatory settings such as bacterial infection.
