CD157, a member of the CD38 gene family, is an NAD-metabolizing ectoenzyme and a signaling molecule, which synthesizes the second messengers cyclic ADP-ribose and nicotinate-adenine dinucleotide phosphate, former a second messenger that elicits calcium release from intracellular stores.
