Clone REA204 recognizes CD148, a receptor type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) belonging to the type III family of PTPs. CD148 is characterized by an extracellular domain with eight fibronectin type III repeats, a trans-membrane region, and a single cytosolic catalytic domain. Expression of CD148 is found on mature thymocytes, peripheral T cells, B cells, NK cells, granulocytes, macrophages, DC subpopulations, epithelial and endothelial cells, and fibroblasts.
