Clone hC3aRZ8 recognizes the human C3a anaphylatoxin chemotactic receptor (C3aR) antigen, a 54 kDa seven transmembrane GTP-binding-protein–coupled receptor which belongs to the rhodopsin supergene family. C3aR is expressed by various cells, including cells of hematopoietic origin such as neutrophils and monocytes, but also non-hematopoietic cells such as renal proximal tubular epithelial cells or neural cells. C3aR functions as a cell surface receptor for the chemotactic and inflammatory peptide anaphylatoxin C3a, a C-terminal 77 amino acid cleavage product of the alpha chain of C3. All cellul
