Clone REA356 recognizes the mouse Bcl-2 antigen, a 26 kDa intracellular single-pass membrane protein found primarily in the mitochondrion outer membrane, the nucleus membrane, and the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Bcl-2 is the founding member of the Bcl-2 family of regulator proteins and it forms homodimers or heterodimers with other Bcl-2 family members. It suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells.
